YMCA Birthday Parties

Leave the fuss to us with birthday parties at the YMCA. Let the Y staff coordinate, plan and set up the party full of fun and games. Parties should be scheduled a minimum of two weeks in advance. Parties are held from 3:00-5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Birthday Party includes cake, drinks, decorations, balloons and table service. Parties are based on 10 kids.

LATIN EXPRESS Put some salsa and spice back into your
fitness routine. The Latin Dance moves will challenge your hips, legs and abdominals while getting a great cardio workout. The easy-to-follow moves are designed to motivate, energize and create a stronger leaner you. Make your own fiesta.

CYCLE 101 Using the Reebok Cycle, bike your way to fitness.
All levels of fitness are encouraged to enjoy the ride and get fit while doing it. This 45 minute workout is followed by 15 minutes of abdominal exercises.

BOSU or Step You make the choice. The Bosu is a cardio


workout with the challenge of balancing, while the step has more stability. The Bosu has a dome on one side and a platform on the other. It will challenge your stability while improving your aerobic performance. Both are great fat burners.

CARDIO KICK Kick up your routine with a jab, kick, and upper cut. This class is great for cardio conditioning and concentrating on the core. So put up your dukes and lets get moving.

FIT YOGA This yoga class is designed to increase muscular


strength, flexibility and improve cardio endurance and will enhance overall balance. Through the flowing asana format, each participant will bring their body and mind together for a selfchallenging and relaxing workout.

(Ages 16 and up) Get a team of 5 people who want to win at losing weight. ARTHRITIS FOUNDATION WATER EXERCISE
Community Class offered by Memorial Healthcare and Shiawassee Family YMCA The Arthritis Foundation Aquatic Program is a recreational group exercise program that was co-developed by the Arthritis Foundation and the YMCA of the USA. This program is designed for anyone with arthritis or related rheumatic health issues or musculoskeletal conditions, ranging from people who are sedentary and very limited by impaired joint mobility to those with only mild joint involvement and/or problems with fatigue. Participants improve their joint flexibility, endurance and reduce their pain and stiffness while supported by the waters buoyancy and resistance. Water temperature is minimum of 84 degrees. Turning Point Program FOR BREAST CANCER SURVIVORS


This program is free to participants who have been diagnosed within the past 5 years. This will be an ongoing program. There will be no session dates. Weight Training (Grades 6-8 & 9-12) If youre in middle school or high school and want to learn the basics of weight lifting and strength training, this is for you! Our Fitness advisor and group exercise instructor Hannah Burns will instruct you on how to properly lift weights. Beginner to advanced lifters are welcome. Each workout will be specialized for your needs. Flag Football (Grades 1-3 & 4-6) Your child will have the opportunity to learn basic skills, team building, and character development during their participation in flag football. Children will also learn the positions and terminology of the game. This league is minimal contact and consists of 2 practices and 6 games. All players will receive a team shirt and end of season award. Cost: $40/Member $60/Program Member Registration Deadline: April 2 Date: Tuesdays, April 15-June 3 Time: 5:30-6:30 (Grades 1-3) 6:30-7:30 (Grades 4-6) Location: Adams Park in Owosso Youth Volleyball (Ages 8-13) This program will provide instruction, information, and game play for children looking to learn the game of volleyball. Co-Ed Volleyball Get or stay in great shape by signing your team up for volleyball. We offer two leagues: A league for more advanced and competitive players, and B league for beginners/intermediate players. Players in both leagues will referee the game before or after they play. Register by January 13. Only 8 spots available per league. First come, first serve (must hand in completed roster and payment to hold your spot). Captains meeting January 16 @ 6:30pm. Winter Break Camp (Ages 5-12) Join us each day for different fun and interactive activities. Kids will be entertained and supervised by YMCA staff. Lunch Provided. Date: December 23, 26, 27, 30 January 2, 3 Time: 8:00am-5:00pm Cost Per Day: $20/Member, $22/Program Member, $25/Community Member Registration Deadline: 5 days prior to event. Spring Break Camp (ages 5-12) Join us for sports, games, and arts and crafts. Lunch is even provided! Grab your friends and have them sign up with you for Spring Break Camp 2014! Date: Monday-Friday, April 7-11 Time: 8:00am-5:00pm Cost Per Day: $20/Member, $22/ Program Member, $25/Community Member Registration Deadline: 5 days prior to event. Camp Shiawassee Family Day Experience the thrills of camp like the black hole, zip line, and climbing wall! Date: Saturday, May 17 Time: 1:00-3:00pm Location: Camp Shiawassee, 5721 E. Exchange St. Bancroft Cost: Free to everyone *Information on Parent Orientation Nights will be handed out at this event. If you are unable to attend this event but would like more information on Camp Shiawassee please stop into the Y mid-May. Parent Orientation Nights will be the beginning of June.

YoUth Fitness
Kardio Kids A fun new aerobics class created specifically for our youth! This 45 minute afterschool group exercise class is for children ages 7-12 and is designed to help keep our kids active and healthy. Sign your kids up today for some kickin cardio fun!
