Objective: To obtain a part time position working as a coach, where I can help young athletes with my leadership, team coordination, and training skills in hopes to lead them to success as an athlete and student. Leadership Participated in high school sports including cross country, soccer and basketball at Peninsula High School Served up to 900 participants water in Race for a Soldier Chosen to be a mentor and teacher for underclassmen at PHS providing skills such organization and time management Served as a team captain for high school basketball and club soccer Team Coordination Managed and supervised a team of selected students during scientific field studies Assisted a coach on a development program for young soccer players Scheduled study groups for high school students to help be prepared for future assessments and assignments Training Taught elementary aged athletes basic rules and skills of soccer Co-coordinated an event for after school for Community Inclusion Program. Assisted a group of kids in 5k Color run. Education: Attending Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, Washington (Class of 2016). Future Plans involve attending a 4-year university, and majoring/specializing in medicine.

In response to your online advertisement, I am writing to apply for the girls soccer coaching position for the spring 2014 season. As a past student, and athlete for KPMS, the ad caught my attention and I see it as a great opportunity to serve the community. The resume provided describes the experience and skills I have to help perform and be successful in position.

The first mission of coaching young athletes should not be leading them to seasonal success but to prepare an athlete for the the next step, preparing them to be successful in all aspects of life. To do so a coach must create a clear avenue of communication. A coach must provide consistent and clear directions that create a secure and caring environment. One way a coach can truly back up these goals is through demonstration. As a high school athlete and honor role student I could encourage, and prepare these athletes as a good role model they could relate to, while still provide the skills I have mentioned in my resume. A coach needs to advocate the great citizenship and values that Key Peninsula Middle School represents, the values that parents and the community have always encourage.
