What is imagination? What inspires us to create? How do we communicate our experiences through our creations? Related Concepts: Expression, Inspiration, Interpretation, Exploration.

Inquiry Into:

Possible learning experiences these may take place in individual subject time, or within the Unit of Inquiry Literacy: Reading Literacy: Writing Math
Rhyming songs, stories: Giraffes cant dance, Dinasourumpus, Goldie locks and the three bears, Lullabyhullaballo!, Can you hear it?, Stanleys Party, Mumma dont allow, Tooth Faily, Violets Music, Prancing, Dancing Lilly, Commotion in the ocean, poem book: Tap dancing on the roof.

Pictures of musical/movement experiences. Facial expression drawing, painting, printing. Emotion stories (drawings). Re-telling personal experiences.

Sorting, patterning, counting Mathematical language: loud, quiet, long, short sounds etc Students : will explore different sounds and begin to contribute to musical activities by using them creatively will begin to distinguish between different types of sound (eg. Spaghetti and marble painting, modelling using soft clay and plasticine. -look at the work of artists who use their work to express emotions eg. Picasso -create art works in response to sounds and music. Watching different types of movement preformed by a visitor (GWA students/teachers) Trip to local theatre Indoor discovery: Role play/ Imaginative play areas.
