Alyssa Morales 1/23/2014 Mrs. Toni Stokes Jones EDMT330 Instructions for Operation a Commercial Color Copier Handout.

The commercial color copier that I used is the "Ricoh Aficio MP C2500 Color Copier".

1. How to turn the copier on & off: To turn it on- A. Press & hold the "On/Off" or the "Power" button of the copier until the copier turns on. The "Power" button is located on either the top or the side of the machine. Make sure to do this before use. To turn it off- A. Press & hold the "On/Off" or the "Power" button of the copier until the copier switches off. The "Power" button is located on either the top or the side of the machine. Make sure to do this after use.

2. How to make a 1-sided copy: A. Press the "Power" button on the copier. Wait about a few minutes for the machine to warm up. B. Lift the lid of the copier & place your document text-down on the glass plate. There's a preview screen that shows what the copy will look like. If the entire document isn't on it, feel free to adjust it by hand to your liking. Place the lid back down. C. Use the number keypad on the copier in order to select the number of copies that you want. Select either the color option or the black-&-white option, depending on the document's nature.

D. Depending on the document, you'll need to change the paper size option. Copiers usually have a standard page size of 8.5" by 11". If you want the copies to be on color pages or larger than the standard size, you will have to put these papers in separately. E. Once you've set everything correctly, press the "copy button" in order to copy the pages.

3. How to make a 2-sided copy: A. This one you'll have to do page by page. Place page 1 textdown on the plate & complete steps 2A to 2E for the document. B. Once page 1 has copied, flip the page over to page 2 & copy it the same way so that the blank back page of the document will be filled with page 2. So, each paper should be front page 1 & back page 2, front page 3 & back page 4, etc., until complete. Some copiers may have an option to select either 1 or 2-sided copies.

4. How to collate & staple copies while making copies: A. When stapling copies, follow the same steps to copy the document as a normal document. B. Do steps 2A to 2D. If there's a paper size option, choose the preferred size instead of step 2D. C. Choose either the 1-sided or 2-sided copy option, or do it manually. D. Select other options to your liking, such as "Sorting/Stacking", "Hole Punching", & "Stapling" (can be oriented at portrait or landscape, have 1 or 2 staples, & have the staples be horizontal, vertical, or diagonal). E. Once you've set everything the way you want, press the "copy button" in order to copy the pages. In this case, the copies will come out stapled.
