1 .Please provide description and procedure of tests for joints,(Annex
H of IEC 60840) .

Please find enclosed revised document No. 05-4/00/SIE/36/3039 Rev. 1 Type

test procedure for 66kV 1x500mm2 XLPE Cable and accessories including
description and procedure of tests for joints, as per IEC 60840, annex H.

Explain why Test of outer protection of buried joint in planned after

completion of other type tests, it should be during the four days of the
final tests.

Explanation: As per proposed scheme, we have considered the tests on outer

protection of joint from the joint which have undergone all the electrical tests
(SR No. 1.4 1.10 of 4.1) of Type Test Schedule. The joint will be cut from
the test loop after the above tests and then further, the test as mentioned on
S.R. 4.2 3. DC Voltage Test will be conducted.
Depending on actual situation at the time of the test, as mentioned above,
based on the provision as per IEC 60840, annex H (Clause H.2), if we use a
separate joint for the test, then the time gaps for the test will be further
reduced.

2. Approved drawings (min A1 size) and installation manuals for cable

accessories shall be included.
