Assignment: Your task is to create your own cityscape to resemble part of the downtown of a major city- your design can be based on any city of your choice or one you make up (But please dont choose Grande Prairies cityscape- the 214 place is far from a cityscape) 1. Part A: You must plan your diorama on grid paper; calculate the dimensions, and find the area and perimeter of each shape. 2. Part B: Build your diorama- you can use any material(s) you want. Your dimensions should match up with your planning. Checklist: Part A: Your design must include the following 2 rectangular prisms 2 square prism 1 cylinder (Dont need area/ perimeter for this) 2 different shapes- hexagon, pentagon, etc. **You can add more buildings if you want!** Buildings in your city- should have the following: 1 water storage facility- such as a reservoir, water tank, swimming pool, etc. 1 emergency building- such as a hospital, fire station, etc. How were including math: You MUST record the dimensions of each shape You MUST calculate the area and perimeter of all your buildings (except: your cylinder and extra prism- hexagonal, pentagonal, etc.) Part B: Build your diorama Build your model Use color- paint, markers, colored plasticine, etc. Your city must be creative and appealing
