AP Calculus Assignment September 25th

In my absence, you will be learning some of rules for finding derivatives. These rules
are taught in Section 3.3 & 3.5 of your text. Your author gives each rule in general form
and then shows the proof of why the rule works. You are responsible for being able to
use the rule. You will not be asked to know the proof. These two sections also focus on
other work with derivatives and special types of problems. We will be covering those
areas when I return.

Tasks:

1. Listen to the Dyknow Lecture that has been posted on blackboard under homework
assignments for Sept. 25th. If for some reason you are unable to use the Dyknow
presentation, you can view the PowerPoint that is given there. It is the same PowerPoint
that I am using in the Dyknow lecture. It explains the rules and gives examples of each.

2. If you feel that you need further explanation or examples, visit the website (Calculus
Help) that is given under Course Links on your blackboard site. It provides the basic rules
and some basic examples. (Scroll down to the bottom to see the derivative rules area.
You should view Chapter 2 Lessons 1 (review) and Chapter 2 Lessons 2, 3, & 4 (new
material).
