Religious Life Jewish life at Brandeis is vibrant and dynamic. From all-you-can-eat Kosher dining and multiple minyanim to our extensive list of shiurim and learning opportunities, the BOO community has something to offer everyone. See Religious Resources for more details about living Orthodox on campus, or contact the organization for more information! Social Life BOO maintains its own social calendar each year, full of programs designed to cater to the wide variety of its members interests. These events range from community service and chesed events, including Manicure for a Cure and other hands-on activities, to Shabbat onegs, tisches, and educational programming. Students also enjoy a variety of social events. Past BOO activities include minigolf, iceskating, an improv show, boating on the Charles River, camping, and many more.

Minyanim Student-led services meet three times each day. BOO also offers Shabbat Services, including a beautiful Kabbalat Shabbat. Kosher Dining Brandeis offers kosher and non-kosher food under one roof, ensuring you can sit with any of your friends! The buffet-style kosher side, along with separate trays, dishes, and our mashgiach, ensure strict kashrut is kept. Eruv BOO maintains and conducts weekly checks on our halakhic eruv around campus. Beit Midrash Our newly renovated Beit Midrash, located in Shapiro Hall, holds thousands of books and journals. Each week, students choose many classes or peer-led learning programs, covering a variety of Jewish topics including practical halakhah, Gemara, and Chumash. Additionally, dozens of students use the Beit Midrash for one-on-one peer earning. The JLIC Couple, Rabbi David and Ariel Pardo, lead several shiurim each week. All classes are available to all students, regardless of previous learning experience or background.

JLIC at Brandeis The JLIC couple on campus, Rabbi David and Ariel Pardo, are Hillel staff members and advisors to the Orthodox community. They each offer many weekly shiurim. Additionally, they're always available to learn one-on-one with students and to provide guidance or advice. As teachers, mentors, and friends, they are a fantastic resource for students.
