Crime Scene In-A-Box Group Project

The following are instructions for completing your Mid-Year project for Forensic Science. Use the planning forms to help your group organize each members responsibilities for the successful completion of the project. ALL forms must be submitted with your final project for credit. Students will be graded individually for their class/group participation in this project. This individual grade will consist of 50 TEST POINTS. This includes, but is not limited to: Attendance in class while group is given time to work on project (absences must be excused) Behavior in the class while given time to work on the project, Responsibility for his/her portions of the project, On-task behavior with minimal supervision by the teacher, Completion of individual evaluation form for project. The group grade will reflect the groups ability to meet ALL requirements for the successful completion of the project. NO HANDWRITTEN DOCUMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED. Purpose of Project: Groups will work cooperatively to create a fake crime scene in a box. The crime scene will show knowledge of concepts learned in Forensic Science throughout the course. Students will then work as a group to unravel the story behind another groups crime scene in a box. It is very important that you keep your groups crime scene a SECRET! Others will attempt to unravel your scene at the end of this project! Instructions for Project: Obtain a BOX to use as your crime scene Obtain PROPS such as dolls, doll furniture, miniature guns, shoes, etc. that will serve as evidence in your crime scene Materials for building crime scene such as tape, glue, paint, paintbrushes, etc. Create a crime scene scenario and type the crime scene scenario on the appropriate form. The scenario should include: o A Title for your Crime Scene o Group Name and Class Period o Story of the Crime Scene that may include possible suspects and motives of others to commit your crime (multiple suspects are good). The scenario should be a minimum of one page, double spaced in 12 point font. Be Creative!! The scenario is ALL the information that is given to other groups to solve your crime. Make it as detailed in information as your group wishes. (The other group should be able to solve the crime with the minimum information given). A detailed description of all evidence that is found in your scene along with what was responsible for the evidence. A completed reconstruction of your crime scene. This should include how a assailant entered the scene, what happened to the victim, how the crime was carried out by the assailant, and what evidence backs up your claims, etc. An individual evaluation form of the project for each group member.
