Different ways of showing gratitude to God Part 1

Text - Psalm 107:1-end

8 Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Introduction
The Lord has kept us for at least 11.5 months this year He has healed us He has watched over our going out and coming in. We could show our gratitude to God in different ways. Praising Him Worshipping Him Singing and Clapping Shouting for joy Sharing our testimonies Loving Him etc

Biblical Examples of showing gratitude to God

Some examples from scriptures. The list is not exhaustive Singing and dancing before God, even composing new songs e.g. Exodus 15:1-15 Moses and the children of Israel v.11 Who is like unto thee, oh Lord . Exodus 15:20-21 Miriam and the women I will sing unto the Lord for He has triumphed gloriously, the horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea Some of us dont know we can compose under the inspiration of the H/S Restitution: Zacchaeus. Luke 19:1-10 **8 8 And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord: Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken any thing from any man by false accusation, I restore him fourfold.

Luke 7:37-38
Weeping and sorrowing for our sins coupled with giving a very costly thing. Luke 7:36-50
37 And,

behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment, 38 And stood at his feet behind him weeping, and began to wash his feet with tears, and did wipe them with the hairs of her head, and kissed his feet, and anointed them with the ointment.

 Coming back to say thank you: 1 leper out of 10 Luke 17:11-19 **15-16. He praised God with a loud voice He fell on his face at Jesus feet He gave thanks All the above in spite of the fact that he was a foreigner. This touched a cord in Jesus & he got wholeness Following Jesus all the way : Bartimaeus Mk 10:46-52 **v.52 IMMEDIATELY he received his sight, he followed Jesus on the way. He did not wait till the second day or the following week.

 By publishing the gospel - evangelism: Mad man of Gadara Mk 5:1-20 **18-20 He preached the gospel in 10 different cities. This started as soon as he was healed. John 15:16 - winning souls is one sure way to get ALL of our prayers answered by God. We have to take soul winning seriously * identify who / where you want to evangelize * begin to pray seriously on this * look for opportunities to witness * believe God for positive response and for a mighty harvest of souls

God has done a lot for us - 1

* The most important of these is the salvation of our souls. * He gave us His Holy Spirit so we can live to please Him - by our own strength or wisdom, we can not please or satisfy Him * He is our healer - healed us each time we fall sick * He is our provider - providing for all our needs: big or small * He is our helper - helping us every day

God has done a lot for us - 2

* He is our protector - protecting us from all forms of danger in the day and in the night * He is our deliverer - delivering us from sin and shame and from every wicked plan of the devil. * He has gone to prepare a place for us, that where He is, we will be there also * He is our soon coming King. Alleluia.
