Pump Figure 1. Schematic of water tank There are two water tanks in a residential building. They supply water to different parts of the building. Only one pump is provided to supply water to both the tanks as shown in Figure 1. When the pump operates both tanks receive water at the same time. In the first tank, there are sensors to detect the water level and when the tank is full, the motor stops automatically. In the second tank there are no sensors to control the motor. Discuss the problems associated with this control system. What solutions do you suggest to rectify the problems?
