Profile of Leadership There are many aspects of the aims of leadership.

The aim of leadership is to provide the opportunity for people to achieve goals that they may not believe they could and guide them toward their goal. Leadership also is to utilize self-awareness, demand balance, and be able to connect with people to inspire trust and the ability to mobilize others. Empower people to strive for a common good and help those in need or those that need extra assistance. Motivate people to always want more for them and also lead by example. Good leadership is comprised of allowing equal opportunities for people to use their different skills in a project. A desirable outlook on leadership will use a comfortable tone, a less-in-yourface feel, be brave, resilient, and generous. A quieter leader is sometimes heard in a very loud way to their stakeholders. The stakeholders will be valued by using democratic means to collaborate ideas together. Finally, a good leader pleases his or her stakeholders because they are respectful, compassionate, honest, and consistent in his or her beliefs. The most effective leader will show excellent communication skills because constituents will feel a part of the organization if there is true dialogue in this relationship. A leader will generate good communication by using content and context to deliver their message. An effective communicator will also understand the barriers that possibly could interrupt the message and make the necessary adjustments to deliver their message effectively. The great communicators also use active listening traits to ensure their constituents are heard and possible suggestions are used in their organization. Listening skills are also very important for leaders to have or acquire because if leaders are just hearing words and not actively listening, their leadership will be greatly affected. Symbolism in leadership is truly necessary because it builds self-confidence and will drive a person to be loyal to their organization. In an organization, symbols can be used to recognize good performances of an employee or just simply be used as a reminder of the past practices of that organization. Typically, symbols are representative of some past tradition or event that has sparked the organization to good things. The power of a symbol comes from its meaning or message. An effective leader can use symbolism at the correct times to motivate the organization he or she is leading. A true symbol of an organization can also lead to organizational patriotism where the symbol is so strong the constituents become completely loyal to their leader and organization. The classroom setting and display is also a symbol of the teaching environment. The desks are arranged to show students how they can act and what format a teacher might convey. Rows show discipline and a traditional education. Circling of the desks or grouping them together may show the class will be more discussion oriented. The importance of reflection in leadership enables leaders to grow and educate themselves in their positions. All through life, people continue to learn from reading, discussions, or experiences that come across their lives. It is important to reflect on these experiences to gain knowledge for the same or better outcomes in the future. Leaders who reflect can analyze outcomes to gain a greater wisdom of that experience. An effective leader will comprise their own list of questions to reflect on what just happened to allow them to learn from good decisions

and poor decisions. Leaders can also use reflection to provide the time and space needed to give all their experiences a chance to surface as he or she sits back from the situation to learn from it. Organizational climate and culture is very important to well-run institutions. Communication with a purpose to constituents will guide a relationship between them and the leader. An effective leader invokes a climate that all participants are heard and admires their perspective. A purposeful leader embraces conflict as a learning tool whether it is good or bad conflicts. A reward system will be used by purposeful leaders. All employees need different types of encouragement for them to feel appreciated by their leader. With those principles in place for a good climate in an organization, the culture will follow. Constituents will feel attached to their company and leaders norms and values when the climate is conducive to a well-run organization. Effective leaders carry out supervision and authority by executing their vision effectively and consistently. Leaders can use consistent patterns in their daily supervision to show he or she cares about their stakeholders. An effective leader observes their constituents to have the ability to be insightful on their work. Positive feedback will be used first and any constructive criticism to their performance will come later. Stakeholders can then use that criticism in a positive way because they feel they are doing most things correct. Good leaders show their authority when needed. Through many times of observation and experience of supervising a group will allow the leader to work with a person to become better or simply understand the stakeholders issues of the day. The use of authority is better received when a relationship has been started already. The teacher/student relationship is important to show your students you care. When the relationship is in place, students receive authority in a positive manner. It takes a special person to be a leader. Different situations can warrant different leadership skills. Anyone can be a leader at any given time. In all different situations such as; a group of friends, sports teams, a classroom setting, and place of employment can all have the same group of people but in each situation have all different leaders. Knowledge of the different events or situations people are in will bring the leadership skills out of people. Leaders are followed because of their knowledge, experience, skill, fortitude in tough situations, or the will of a leader to make everyone else better. The special person in any situation will rise to the occasion to lead people through.
