RUFF EDUCATIONAL AND MENTORING SCHOLARSHIP (OAR)

OAR is named for Mr. Oliver A Ruffs--an educator and community leader--legacy in education and motivation. OAR awards college scholarships, and offers mentoring to Evanston Township High School students from disadvantaged background. OAR favors students who want to improve their lives through career paths that will not only benefit themselves but also contribute to their communities. To receive funding, the selected recipient must demonstrate he or she is enrolled and will be attending college or university for the entire school year. The recipient may re-apply annually for the scholarship for a total of four years. The mentoring component is available for the full duration of a students college career. Organization: Criteria: Oliver A. Ruff Educational and Mentoring Scholarship (OAR) Graduating ETHS students with a minimum of 2.5 GPA, who will attend an accredited institution of higher learning.
