Lab 4 Updating

4.1 Data Dates and Rescheduling


Updating is the process of reporting actual progress achieve d on the job and modifying schedule eleme n ts , primarily those not yet in progress. Updat es are done at regular inter va ls, based on the type and dura tion of the project, usually every month. ost times the submit t a l and approval of the schedule is tied to progress paym e n ts for the !or". #herefor e , updating is a major scheduling activity and may indeed ta"e longer than the initial schedule prepar a tion !hen all upda t e !or" is combined. $ne of the first e%ercises is to integr a t e the upda te inform a tion into the net! or" diagra m . #his is recom m e n d e d so that changes can be easily seen. &n the field repor ts are fre'ue n tl y prepa r e d for field superint e n d e n ts or fore m e n to comple t e noting the actual start and actual finish or remaining duration of those activities !hich should be updat e d during the curren t !or" period. Practice 4.1 1. Change the project start date to todays date and be sure that it is on a 5 day calendar. To do so, you need to first go to the OP ! P"O# CT$ screen. %.
