Overviewof2014youthconference:Youthtalkedabouthowtheyreallywanttheyouthconferencetonot onlyfocusonpioneersinUtah,butalsoonpersonalheritagefromaroundtheworld.Focusonhowwe overcometrials. ThemesandLogos:Reviewedthemesandsomeyouthlikedtheideaofincludingpioneerinthethemebut thenitdoesnthaveto.Likedthefollowingthemes. PioneersAroundtheWorld PioneersofourDay FacingTrialswithFaithandCourage WalkingourPathwaywithHeaveninView CarryontoZion TrekkingtoHeaven TrailofFaith Action:YouthCommitteearetoreviewthethemesandasktheirpeerswhattheythinkaboutthemand respondviaemailbyFeb16withtheirtopchoices.Wewillnarrowthisdowntotwoorthreethemesvia email.Oncewehavetheshortlistofthemeswewillaskyouthtodeveloplogos. Action:YouthCommitteeisalsosupposedtoprovideuswithnamesofyouthwholikegraphicdesignand wouldbeinterestedincreatingthelogo.WeneedthelogossubmittedbyFebruary22ndandwewill decideonathemeandlogoFebruary23rd. Clothing:BrotherCokerexplainedconcernsaboutculturalsensitivityforpeopleattendingwhoarenot relatedtoUtahpioneersanddressingasUtahpioneers.Thisconferenceisapioneertrekbutitwillfocuson pioneersfromaroundtheworldandthepersonalheritageofeachyouth.Theyouthsawthepointofview aboutwantingtobeculturallysensitive,butalsothoughtthatcostumeswouldhelpmakeitamore authenticexperience.
