TEACHING EXPERIENCE Village Elementary School, West Windsor, New Jersey! ! ! Spring 2014 Taught general music and chorus to children grades 4 and 5 in a supervised practicum. Lessons emphasized Kodly strategies that focus on ear training, music literacy, and independent music making. Lesson content was correlated to meet the benchmarks of the Common Core Curriculum standards, as well as the National Standards for Music Education. Instruction was di!erentiated to meet individual student learning styles as well as inclusion of special education students. Attended professional development days, behavioral modication meetings with the school counsilor, and parent teacher conferences. Assisted with the annual spring choral festival, and performed with district teachers chorus. Quarry Hill Elementary, Pennsbury, Pennsylvania ! ! ! ! Spring 2013 Taught general music to children grades K-5 and chorus grades 4 and 5 in a supervised practicum group. Created lesson plans based on Kodly strategies, while incorporating the use of technology and popular music in the classroom. Developed choral warm ups focusing on healthy tone production. Princeton Girl Choir Conducting intern under Lynnel Joy Jenkins with Ensemble, the auditioned middle/ high school group. Responsible for leading warm-ups, sectional rehearsals, and rehearsing music. Also taught sight-singing techniques in an elementary audition preparation class.
