Hillcrest Elementary School, Newtown, PA Spring 2014


Taught classroom music to grades K 6 and choral music to grades 5 and 6 in a supervised practicum setting. Lessons emphasized Kodly and Orff strategies that developed creativity and musical literacy skills. Created listening lessons that engaged students in active listening. Lesson content was correlated to meet the benchmarks of the National Common Core Standards. Differentiated instruction to meet individual student learning styles and special education students mainstreamed into the classroom. Conducted 5th grade, 6th grade, and select choirs on the spring concert.

Pennsbury High School, Yardley, PA Fall 2012


Developed choral warm-ups that addressed choral and vocal issues in the repertoire while encouraging good vocal technique and strong choral habits.

William Penn Middle School, Yardley PA Fall 2012


Devised lessons for 6th and 7th grade using O Passo techniques and body percussion to work on rhythm reading and performance skills. Classroom lessons included critical listening and analysis.

East Amwell Elementary School, East Amwell Township, NJ Spring 2013 Created lessons using Orff instruments to develop vocal and instrumental skills. Other classroom lessons include critical listening with movement and singing multicultural songs.

St. James Church, Jamesburg, NJ 2012-present


Childrens choir director where children sing monthly at church. Cantor every weekend.

American Choral Directors Association Student Chapter 2011-2013


Served two school years as Treasurer for Westminster Choir Colleges ACDA student chapter. Planned two trips to ACDA conferences, managed funds and hotel planning for the trips, and assisted in weekly meeting planning.

Westminster Symphonic Choir, Joe Miller, Conductor 2012-2013


Performances include Verdis Requiem and Beethovens 9th Symphony with Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra and Yannick Nezet-Seguin

Westminster Williamson Voices, James Jordan, Conductor 2011-2013


Performances include the American premiere of Paul Mealors Crucifixus and a Grammy Nominated recording, Annalies by James Whitbourn
