De la Seora:

Bible Memory: John 8:12 Due: Feb. 28 Math: * Rules and addition facts * Finally finished Unit 5 and had test Language Arts: We are continuing to focus on communities. Weve been learning a lot of vocabulary and also practicing the hard and soft g and j. We drew our houses and communities and wrote sentences about them. This included our addresses. We have read lots of books on communities and also began reading more books of student choosing. This coming week we will finish up our community lessons.

As we all know, this has been an interesting last few weeks. Due to the snow days, we have been modifying our schedule quite a bit. The class is doing well despite the interruptions. This past week we began to more fully implement the Daily 5. The class has been working on increasing their stamina to read for longer periods. They are really doing well and becoming more focused on their center work. They are becoming much better readers in Spanish! Along with this we are trying to fit in all the special themes in February. We made predictions for Groundhogs Day, celebrated 100 days, will exchange Valentines, will discuss Presidents, and learn about dental care. Hopefully the snow days are over!
