1. Climate and landscape in Europe Europe is a peninsula situated in western Eurasia. Types of climate and their vegetation: Polar tundra Continental coniferous forest, deciduous forest, mixed forest and steppe. Oceanic deciduous forest and coniferous forest (Norway). Mediterranean Mediterranean forest and steppe. High mountain mountain vegetation, tundra in the North and steppe in the South.

The coldest areas are situated in the North (polar climate) and the coldest ones in the South (Mediterranean climate).
