From Objectives to Assessment: Breathing Life into Your Lesson Planning

Workshop Description As teachers, we know how much thought and planning go into great teaching, the work needed to prepare lessons that are stimulating, relevant, and that help develop our students skills and performance. Before we set foot into the classroom, theres so much to consider: students goals, learning standards, test preparation and learning gains. We also need to think a out learning o !ectives, what resources to use and how to use them, classroom activities, and, "es, assessment. #his workshop will go beyond grounding teachers in the asic components of a well$designed lesson and will also consider various wa"s to approach lesson planning for %&'(, )re$A&%, A&%, and other AB% classes, so that full lesson planning, formal or informal, ecomes second nature. Also on the ta le will e including the national College and Career Readiness Standards for Adult Education in "our planning. #wo sessions, this workshop will e instructive and interactive and will include participants developing and sharing their own lesson plan with other participants. A commitment to attend both sessions is asked of all participants. Workshop Facilitators are!
