T.O.D.D
Revolutionize the way people analyze earthquake data Save lives Takes pictures of swimming life

Seismometers Most seismometers have a fixed base and a writing medium and a needle to write with. The needle swings back and forth to the vibrations of the Earth.

About The Product The Tectonic Observation Dome of Divergent (T.O.D.D) will be placed over a fault line and will monitor the movement on the plate. T.O.D.D will sent signals when there is movement in the plates.

The fault lines are what are shown in the picture below. The seismograph monitors fault lines in the Earth. The most earthquakes and volcanic eruptions happen on the fault line that borders the African plate and the Eurasian plate.

Seismographs
Are super sensitive. Really old and fragile. Not a reliable source to detect earthquakes, if it picks up any sudden spikes in the paper. The are made up of a spring, a weighted pen, a rotating drum, and a horizontal metal board screwed into the ground.

The third seismograph was called Robert Mallets 1851 seismoscope. Robert Mallet studied the motions in the earth with a seismoscope he created.

The first seismograph was called Chang Hengs Dragon Jar. It had 8 dragon heads and 8 frog heads. In the all the dragons heads were marbles. Those marbles would fall into a frog head to indicate the direction the earthquake was coming. It was created in 132 AD.

The Cecchi Seismograph is like the one we have today. It is modeled after the Cecchi Seismograph. It is considered the first true seismograph.

To make this amazing piece of machinery, T.O.D.D, scientist would need to create a glass substance that wont break under the pressure of the sea floor. Also, there would need to be a seismograph the is small and light enough to move around on the sea floor. You would need to waterproof all of T.O.D.Ds parts so the parts dont corrode or die, for lack of better terms. The camera and wheels would not break if all the parts were waterproofed. If the parts arent waterproofed, the robot would break, thus costing more money for he government to make another T.O.D.D.

T.O.D.D would cost a lot of money because of the time it would take to build one. Many parts still need to be built to create T.O.D.D a realty. Many engineers would have to create the first T.O.D.D. Then, people could build more T.O.D.Ds just like the first, if it works, which could reduce the amount of jobless people in the world.

Pros
Saves lives Retractable parts Multi use Makes more jobs

Cons
Costs money Big and bulky Highly advanced

Great things about T.O.D.D are that it will be the only seismograph that sends signals to a computer program that seismologists can get. It also has more high tech machinery than the normal seismograph. It is an actual machine that has treads and jet-propulsion to escape divergent plates. It also has a retractable satellite dish that sends signals, and when T.O.D.D is ready to move, the satellite dish will retract so it doesnt break. The treads will have amazing grip that allows T.O.D.D to practically stick to the ocean floor.
