Reactive Psychosis

The psychosis condition precipitate by psychosocial stressor. The clinical features is the same with the clinical features that had been classified. Psychosocial stressor : is every situation or event that cause the change in life of someone ( child, adult or adolescent) so that the people perforced to perform an adaptation or overcome the stressor.

Classification
1. Other non organic psychosis, depressive type. Clinical features is the same with major depression. The condition was precipitated by severe psychosocial stressor (must be written in axis IV) 2. Other non organic psychosis, excitative type. The clinical features is the same with bipolar disorders, manic type (but precipitated by severe psychosocial stressor)

3. Reactive confusion; marked by clouding of consciousness, reduce of emotional contact, often accompanied by excessive activity; precipitated by severe psychosocial stressor

4. Acute paranoid disorder Clinical features less than 6 months Often founded in people who experienced sudden change of environment ( eg : imigrant, escapee, military mobilization) Rare to become chronic

5. Paranoid psychogenic psychosis Acute paranoid disorder that become endless.

6. Brief reactive psychosis A. The psychotic symptoms occur suddenly after marked psychosocial stressor, which also will give grief meaning to almost everyone.

B. The clinical features include emotional distortions and at least had one of the symptoms from below :

Incoherence or loose associations Delusion Hallucination Disorganized or catatonic behavior

C. The psychotic symptoms continued more than several hours but less than two weeks. And will full recovery again to the premorbid function level.

D. There is no period where shown a rising psychopatological symptoms before the psychosocial stressor.
