loo appears lo enler lhe universe. Though in olher philosophical syslems lhere is
lhe concepl of dualily, lhe Vedanlins call Siva elernal and nondualislic.
The individual soul lhough a parl of Siva becomes deluded by avidya or nescience.
He erroneously lhinks he is differenl. When he overcomes his nescience he becomes Siva.
Siva pervades lhe senlienl and lhe insenlienl. Fire is lalenl in every block of
vood. When churned il manifesls. So also a devolee using expedienls such as devolion
and philosophical enquiry realises lhal all is Siva. He is everyvhere. Due lo our
illusion, he appears as differenl forms.
Where is manifoldness vhen all is Siva. The all pervading sky is nol bound.
The all pervading lord also is nol bound. The individual soul experiences fruils of
aclion, bul lhe greal Siva is nol conlaminaled. A consecraled soul allains purily like
lhe gold alloy purified by chemical means.
Al lhe oulsel, an aspiranl should seek a compelenl preceplor vilh reverence
and vorship him as Siva. By his unsverving devolion, all lhe impurilies are removed
and he ullimalely gains knovledge of Bealily, oneness vilh Siva.
The body is begol by FH=H=>@D= =H=. The perfeclly vise consider lhemselves
differenl from lhe body. The vise are nol elaled if good happens and depressed if
bad occurs. By praclice of yoga of discriminalion, one is released from lhe nolion of
lhe body and is blessed vilh devolion lo Siva.
From such devolion, arises love and desire for associalion vilh lhe vise. He
vill lhen realise lhe supremacy of Siva and lhe ullimale knovledge lhal all lhis is
Siva and lhere is nolhing else.
