Grand Opening of the Exhibit Inventions Throughout History!

What
The local childrens museum is planning a grand opening for a new exhibit featuring inventions throughout history. In order to promote this new exhibit, the museum has asked the students of Ms. ONeills class to create art pieces for the opening night. The art pieces should only focus on the following inventions: the cotton gin, the reaper, the steam locomotive, and the steamboat, and should illustrate the impact the invention had on American society. In doing so, students are to display what life was like before and after the inventions were introduced. In addition, the museum asks that students provide a title for their artwork, a one-word title that summarizes the impact of the invention. Art pieces will be showcased on the exhibits opening night!

How
Choose one of the following inventions to focus your art piece on: the cotton gin, the reaper, the steam locomotive, and the steamboat. Using your background knowledge, think about the impacts the invention had on American society. Create your art piece; be sure to display what life was like before and after the invention was introduced. (A sheet of paper will be provided and you may use any materials that you wish for your artwork.) Provide a one-word title for your artwork that summarizes the inventions impact. Also be sure to note which invention you are illustrating in your art piece.
