Cubism

Colors
Many dustier colors were used during this time period, like burnt oranges, browns, dark reds and blues. Harsh lines of black and brown are also used.

How did they do it?

Many cubism style artists had an intended subject in mind before starting. Long, straight lines were made across the picture. Shading from lines was also a big influence.

Cubism Activity
You are going to get a sheet of paper,on this paper make 5-10 straight lines of any size and anywhere on the page. Next, think of an object (anything, a dragon, an iPhone, your great uncle Louis) and using cubism techniques, make a boxy drawing of it. Finally, use colored pencils and shade it in.
