EARLY YEARS AND PERSONAL LIFE


Tendulkar was born 24 April 1973 in Bombay. His father, Ramesh Tendulkar, a Marathi novelist, named Tendulkar after his favourite music director Sachin dev burman.
Tendulkar elder brother ajit encouraged him to play cricket. Tendulkar has two other siblings; a brother Nitin, and a sister savitai.

Tendulkar attended Sharadashram Vidya mandir (high school), where began his cricketing career under the guidance of his coach and mentor, Ramakant achrekar. During his school days he attended the MRF pace foundation to train as a fast bowler.

But Australian fast bowler Dennis Lillie, who took a world record 355 Test wickets, was un impressed, suggesting that Tendulkar focus on his batting instead.

He became the first batsman to touch the 200* mark in an ODI. Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar (born 24 April 1973) is in India cricketer widely regarded as one of the greatest batsman. In the history of cricket. He is the leading run-scorer and century maker in Test and ODI cricket. He is the only male player to score a double century in an innings in the history of ODI cricket in 2010.

When he was 14, Indian batting legend Sunil Gavaskar gave him a pair of his own ultra light pads. It was the greatest source of encouragement for me, He said nearly 20 years later after surprising Gavaskars top world record of 34 Test centuries.
