We researched two health, two social and two community services. Each person researched key information on each: Names, addresses, phone numbers, websites and any other relevant information.

Assets Description
Kaiser Permanente- KFH West Los Angeles Medical Center Info: Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles Medical Center is a general medical and surgical hospital in Los Angeles, CA, with 172 beds. It a non-for-profit operated hospital that specializes in general medical and surgical services. Hollywood Community Hospital At Brotman Medical Center Info: 420 bed, inpatient and outpatient services, general surgery, orthopedic, spine and neurosurgery, cardiology, diagnostic outpatient, rehabilitation, psychiatric, and detox; active emergency room for the West LA area

South Robertson Neighborhood Council & Palms Neighborhood Council hold community events e.g. family night @ Hamilton HS give members a voice on issues that affect the community

How these Assets Make the Community a Better Place South Robertson Neighborhood Council (SORO NC) - chartered and funded by the City of Los Angeles to promote citizen participation in government at a grassroots level - has 25 seats that represent geographical areas (zones), organizations and businesses - meet together and operate committees to address community issues - Programs: public Town Halls, mentoring program at Shenandoah Elementary School, community awards for people and businesses that have made a difference in the community, SOROCard to support local businesses (get discounts at partcipating businesses), SoRo Festival (located near Hamilton High School), and many more!

Palms Neighborhood Council - provides a forum for Palms stakeholders to be heard, communicates throughout the Palms neighborhood, the city of Los Angeles and beyond, and works to - has regular meetings that are open to the public, all residents of Palms are welcome to attend - community resources on their website, such as notices of Exposition Line Phase 2 construction, information about businesses in Palms, Law and Safety information, etc.

Interviewed Ms. Rodriguez (teacher), Paul Koretz (elected official), Milton Arze (student), Debbie Galo (school staff), Jamila Veasley (community member, employee at Kaiser Permanente), Mr. & Mrs. Sigalo (parents) Most of the community members say the community is diverse and safe. Most resources cater to a variety of groups; seniors, homeless, parents. Many of the assets are involved in the community and are dedicated to improving the community with events, volunteer work, and other programs Problems include more activities involving parents to keep students off streets; lack of health insurance for everyone, not just adults.

Focus Question How can Hamilton High School facilities assist the community aside from offering classes during the day?

A lot of cultural wealth. Individuals have limited access to it. Its possible to create a space different resources of the community can partner up to positively impact their community. For example, we found that many community members are uninsured and unaware of as Affordable Care Act. If this information is spread in a easily accessed and well known facility, like Hamilton High School, the community members can benefit greatly from this knowledge.
