Task 3

1) Use Excel to redraw the graph you constructed in task 2:

-Create a Scatter plot of the data you found in the table of

variation.

i. Enter the data in vertical columns in the excel sheet ii. Select the data then go to insert menu iii. Choose Scatter.
-Type

a trend line:

i. Go to Layout
ii.

Choose trend line. (More trend lines: Polynomial order2)

iii. Also set the Forecast A. Forward: 10 periods. Since the data you entered stops at an angle of 80 degrees. This will extrapolate the data to an angle of 90 degrees. B. Backward: 30 periods. Since you started your data at an angle of 30 degrees; this will extrapolate data to an angle of 0 degrees. iv. Display Quadratic Function on Chart.
v.

Display R squared value on Chart.

iv. Line style: width =2 pt. Distance vs. Bat Angle for bat speed = 90 mph <your name and section>

Q5: Use the quadratic model to determine the angle at which the ball must be hit in order top achieves the maximum distance. Show your calculation and round your answer to the nearest degree.
Graph type: Maximum so Angle of symmetry = highest point AoS = -b/2a = -15.179/-0.3398 = 44.6703943
