This half-day seminar presents an overview of the basic Arc Hydro data model and tools and shows an example of implementation, from data collection to analyses.

Audience
The seminar is targeted towards an audience interested in water resources applications of ArcGIS who want to get an introduction to Arc Hydro.

Learning Objectives
Be able to download Arc Hydro surface water data model and Arc Hydro tools in ArcGIS Understand basic concepts of a relational database Understand the core Arc Hydro surface water data model principles Be able to extend Arc Hydro data model for customized use Be able to apply the core Arc Hydro tools Be able to create an Arc Hydro geometric network in ArcGIS derived from a digital elevation model (DEM) or vector data (e.g. basin delineations) Understand how Arc Hydro can be implemented in a real world example

Prerequisites
None. General GIS and/or water resources background would be helpful. Familiarity with ArcGIS (ArcMap in particular) and with geodatabase design principles would be helpful, but not necessary.

Instructor
