These are the results I received from doing the questionnaire put forth by Richard Felder and Barbara Soloman. My results show who I am as a learner at the present moment, which will help me excel in my education studies.

An in depth description of the the learning styles can be viewed via http://www4.ncsu.edu/unity/lockers/users/f/felder/public/ILSdir/styles.htm. The test can be taken at http://www.engr.ncsu.edu/learningstyles/ilsweb.html.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaweXw03kQI (0:40-1:45) The students are shown actively participating in their learning by mirroring Miss. Freunlich and then teaching their partner in order to demonstrate an understanding of the material. The kids seem to be engaged and show a desire to learn and teach their peers.

I want to ensure that my students understand that making mistakes and errors are part of the learning process. Mistakes should not be viewed as failure, but rather the first step in reaching achievement. In the photos, I am demonstrating a yoga position called Dancers Pose. The position takes extreme amounts of concentration and balance. As you can see, I fell out of the pose but it represents my future philosophy: never give up!

Implementing a classroom agreement on the first day of class enables the kids to set the climate and culture of the room for the rest of the year. Both myself and the students would be active participants in forming the rules for which we abide by. By creating a positive atmosphere within the classroom, motivation, attitudes, and achievement will all increase. A signature shows the acknowledgement of the agreement and an oath to making the school year the best it can be! Here is an example of a classroom agreement retrieved from http://mrscarlsonsfirstgrade.blogspot.ca/2010_08_01_archive.html

Lesson plans seem to de-rail more frequently than not while teaching. I am so grateful for my volunteer experience at the YMCA. The little boy who put a gender type on push-ups blessed me with the best teachable moment I believe the children received during the class. I cant wait to embrace challenges with open arms and turn all off track lessons into teachable ones.

A card given to me by my supervisor.

Eagle Pose

Tree Pose

Wrap your legs, wrap your

arms, and wrap your tongues. Students will balance emotions in order to regroup and focus on the task at hand.

A tree one of the most

beautiful things in nature. Students will become grounded, still, and committed through a concentration on balance.

I vow to see the good and potential in every single student. When they see the good in me and we are in that place together, our classroom will become one a strong, cohesive unit.
