This image would be suitable for the front cover of my magazine for a few reasons.

The model is making direct address with the camera which make the photo connect with the audience of the photo no matter where angle that they are viewing the image from. It is also a mid-shot which is commonly used on most magazine front covers.

The lighting is face on and high contrast which shows his face and does not cause any unnecessary shadows. If used this photo would need to be cut from its background.
It wont be used however, because there is a shadow behind his head which is on the wall.

I like this photo because of the smile of the model. It makes the photo quite a bit happier and makes it more interesting to the audience. The image however is a mid-shit which helps to focus the audiences attention to the head and torso of the model. There is also a blur on the image from where I have moved whilst taking the photo. A method to remove this would be to sharpen the image in a program like Photoshop. The lighting is good too, it is high contrast and illuminates his whole face. The hands in the pockets adds a sense of action or movement to the photo which could excite the audience Ultimately it cant be used due to the motion blur.

I like this photo because of the lighting in it. I also like the way the model is adjusting his jacket because it adds action to the photo which makes the photo a lot more interesting. The lighting is good because it creates no shadows on the models face and clearly shows all the features on him. However, one problem with the lighting is the shadow that is created on the right hand side of the image. It can not be used furthermore due to the motion blur of his hand adjusting the jacket. It is not fix-able via editing and he is also not making direct address which needs to be included.

I like this photo because of the serious face of the model. It makes the photo quite a bit more serious and a lot more edgier. The image however is a mid-shot which is what I wanted and it helps the audience focus on the face. The open jacket on the model adds a sense of ruggedness to the photo. The lighting is good too, it is high contrast and illuminates his whole face.

Ultimately it cant be used due to the quite negative attitude this photo creates due to the angry type face.

I have chose this as the picture I am going to use for the front cover for a few reasons. It is also a mid-shot which is commonly used on most magazine front covers.
