General Registration of Voters 2014 @14 March 2014

Introduction
The Electoral Commission of Namibia (ECN) conducted the 3rd General Registration of Voters during the period of 15 January to 2 March 2014. The exercise used the newly acquired biometric Voter Registration Kits (VRKs) deployed by 700 teams throughout the country and a further 29 points at embassies and consulates around the world. The VRKs collect the data in the field, and this data is then transferred to the central server for processing. This processing includes searching for duplicates through ID and fingerprint matching.

The ECN has completed the data upload of all persons registered and can announce the following results. Total Number of Voters Registered in Namibia: 1,158,925 Total Number of Voters Registered outside of Namibia: 3,441
VRKs data from foreign embassies are still being verified for remote uploads Foreign registration is not included in graphs

Registered Voters by Region The registered voters are broken down by region with a column graph indicating differences in number and the pie chart indicating percentage of the total number of voters registered.

The Gender breakdown indicates the relationship between the genders in the make-up of a regional total.

Registered Voters by Generation

The registered voters are shown per the year in which they are born. Of interest is that the largest percentage of registered voters fall in the age group 18-32. The born-frees (born after 21 March 1990), make up 228,703 or 19.73% of registered voters
