Notebook (L3) Reminders & Checklist This checklist was put together to help those of you who need

specific reminders before submitting your notebook: Is your proper heading in upper right hand corner of ALL assignments Are all assignments in order? Is your Table of Contents the first page of your notebook? (NOTE: The Table of Contents will be the second page if youre completing the L4 Cover Page.) Are all assignments facing the correct direction? (e.g. not backwards, upside-down?) Did you erase all marks on Table of Contents & assignments? Are all assignments 100% complete? Do you have one staple in upper left-hand corner? Are all papers stapled neatly? Are all papers stapled? (check the small papers) Double check the Anticipation/Reaction Guide... Did you write the page number for each answer? For the evidence, did you write the direct quote from the book? Did you write A or D in the After-Reading Column? o Vocabulary Chart Are the definitions in your OWN words? Did you include important details in the definitions? Did you color the pictures? Did you write the title on front and back? Did you make corrections if Mrs. Atkinson/Mrs. Robinson left notes? All assignments that were reviewed in class needs to be corrected Did you ERASE your wrong answers and rewrite the correct ones? Did you erase all doodles and stray marks on all papers? You will lose points if you do not follow the bright blue Notebook Guidelines as well as this check-list. I will update this checklist periodically (it will be

listed in a different color with the date/time) as I come across issues when grading notebooks. Cover Page (L4) Reminders & Checklist Is your proper heading in the upper-right hand corner? Does your proper heading include the DUE date of the notebook? Did you write the title (as given by me)? Did you erase ALL pencil? Is all writing in BLUE or BLACK ink? Did you label all of the sub-themes for the Five Themes of Geography? Location: Absolute and Relative? Place: Human and Physical? Human-Environment Interaction: H-E (+)(-)/E-H (+)(-)? Region: Two different categories? Did you color all pictures? Did you explain all pictures? Did you draw a map and label the absolute location for a relevant place from our current unit? Is the place youre chosen for absolute location specific enough? (e.g. city, relevant landmark) Is the map youve drawn relevant to our unit? Does the map actually include the place youre using for absolute and relative location? Did you label the longitude and latitude ON the map? Did you write the relative location for the same place you chose for absolute location? Did you explain how the human and physical characteristics for place are specific/important to our unit? (NOTE: You do not need to state that human characteristics were made by humans, just explain how that human characteristic is important to our unit. Same goes for physical characteristics) Are the examples for H-E/E-H specific AND relevant to our current unit? Did you explain how your example for H-E/E-H is (+) or (-)?

Did you answer all four questions for movement? Did you write the answer in a complete sentence? Did you illustrate all four answers to the questions for movement? For region, did you choose two different categories? Did you label the categories and examples? Did you explain how those examples unify the people? Did you label the examples for the categories you chose for region? If you completed a L5 Cool Stuff Project, label the project (e.g. poster, movie) and the names and periods for ALL partners/collaborators You will lose points if you do not follow the bright blue Notebook Guidelines as well as this check-list. Cool Stuff (L5) Reminders & Checklist Is your proper heading on the project? Are all partners/collaborators listed with periods? If you have more than TWO people collaborating on the project, did you get approval from your teacher? Did you include at least one of the following: Thinking Tools, Keys to Learning, or Universal Themes? Did you clearly label the higher order thinking skill youve used? Is your project creative? Does your project demonstrate learning beyond what was covered in class? If your project is a poster - Did you use pen? Did you color illustrations? Did you erase all pencil? If your project is a movie - Did you include in the credits who did what? If your project is digital - Did you check to see if your teacher received it? If you project is digital - Did you clearly explain how it supports NETS-
