Closing A Class

Explain the procedure: Today we learned How to Determine the Time Using an Analog Clock. Generate the rationale: This class was important because everyone needs to know how to identify the basic components of clock, and how to express time verbally or in writing. As we improve in this area we empower ourselves to be better managers of tasks, people, and equipment. Explain and Model the procedure (Step by Step): First, draw a record line beneath the clock, then write the correct hour left of the colon which is indicated by the short hand. Lastly, write the correct minutes to the right of the colon, which is indicated by the long hand. Check for Understanding: At this time Im going to divide the room in half; Left side, and the right side. Ill now begin asking a series of questions worth 1 point each. Q: How many quadrants on there on a clock? A: 4,15 minutes / quadrant. Q: When do you draw the record line? A: First, B: Second, C: Third, D: Last- A. Q: What side of the colon is the time recorded? A: Right side. Q: How many minutes are on the clock? A: 60 minutes Rehearse: Next week our class will be studying Elapsed Time. The notes weve been taking will be beneficial to each of you next week. I encourage this class to continue studying your notes over the weekend so that you become more proficient at determining hours and minutes. Reinforce: Before class is dismiss Im going to give each of you two work sheets to practice illustrating and writing time correctly. Dismissal: Put chairs on top of the desks, pick up any trash on the floor, make sure that homework folders are in the backpacks.
