Once cooled down, students will be introduced to the Get Off the Couch take home assignment Students will turn in their pacer-tracking sheet. Students will turn in their pedometer and record their Steps on the pedometer tracking sheet. Assessments: Students will be assessed in a variety of ways throughout this lesson: 1. Students will be assessed through their pedometer at the end of this lesson 2. Students will be assessed on their pacer test results did they meet or beat their score? 3. Equipment needs Pacer tracking sheets, Pedometers, Pacer CD, Writing Utensils, Cone (marking other end line), Get Off the Couch take home assignment. Safety Considerations Make sure students have plenty of room when running the pacer. Students should be spread out evenly and spaciously along the base line. Students should not collide into one another when turning to run the other way. Students with health issues should remember to stop if feeling faint or weak in any way. Inhalers should be available if needed. Students will be along the sideline of the basketball court when stretching, walking and getting a drink of water. Students will remain in that spot when reviewing the take home assignment, turning in their pacer results, and turning in their pedometer and results.

Differentiated Instruction If student does not have a partner, the instructor will be in charge of tracking their pacer results. Classroom Management/Democratic Practices Students will be grouped by their previous pacer results to ensure that all students will have time to complete the pacer test.
