& Going Away Party for Simon Power

Trali Irish Pub - Morrisville
Come out for a pint and celebrate the sounds of Ireland!
Simons son Rian, has Autism. A beautifully bright and happy boy who loves iCarly and swimming in anything deeper than a puddle! Simon runs an autism-advocacy group at Cisco, which enables parents to help each other with education, medical and insurance questions. Born with a keen ear for music near Wexford, Ireland, thanks to his opera-singer mother, Simon grew up at his grandmothers knee learning to play her accordion and sing traditional Irish songs in the ways that only a granny can teach. These songs and stories of everyday life, love and laments engrained themselves deep in his heart, and became the viewpoints from which hes lived his life and honed his craft as a contemporary songwriter and traditional Irish singer. Simon has lived, written and performed music in places as close to home as Galway and as far away as Gabon. He draws inspirations from chance meetings with people, and his observations and musings in airports, grocery stores, sports events, and literally from the side of the road. Recognizing that people and situations are best expressed by specic kinds of music, Simons genres span Adult Contemporary, Pop, Country, Celtic, New Age, Folk, Christmas, Christian Contemporary, and Irish Traditional and Contemporary.
