SCE 330 Lesson Plan #1 Title: Seeing the Moons Water Grade: 4 Objective: Students will make predictions

based on the article, Seeing the Moons Water. Procedure: The teacher will begin the lesson by explaining to students that a prediction is a guess that you make based on the clues or pictures of a text/experiment. All students will be put into pairs to work. Students will be given a chart to collect data. Students will also be given an article from Science News for Kids called Seeing the Moons Water. Before reading the article, students can take a look at the articles pictures, title, and bolded words to predict what the article is about and whether there is water on the moon. They will write the predications on their charts. Then, the teacher will read aloud the article. When the article is finished, students will compare the evidence and any adjustments based on their predications. The worksheet should be handed in at the end of class

Materials: Pen/pencil Prediction chart See the Moons Water article

Assessment: Students will be assessed using the prediction chart that is to be handed in at the end of class.
