DESIGN TECHNOLOGY Unit Title: The future of Technology and De ign Ne!

Cli"#

Duration: $ !ee% Grade &' ()Y*+, Conte-t:

Technology and design around us is evolving and changing at a rapid rate. The environment that students will graduate, work and retire in will be very different from the one we are in now. How can students prepare for this and anticipate the positive use of technology and design in their worlds. Using the TED website as a basis for research students will pick a topic from here and use this as the basis to create a news report on their chosen subject that will include the opinions and interviews of each other and staff members. The intention behind this is .Ho! can !e antici"ate the future/ 0rea of interaction focu
!hich area of interaction will be our focus" !hy have we chosen this" Co11unity and Ser2ice:

Significant conce"t( ,
!hat are the big ideas" !hat do we want our students to retain for years into the future"

This area on interaction students will contribute to the community by researching current or future technological developments events, and interview leading staff members.

Designers must take into consideration a range of views when developing a design and an objective #best fit# approach is re$uired to communicate clearly.
