Put this date on your calendar, a Must Do... Special Presentation: by Joseph V. Ryan, Manager Office of Drug Control Policy

Snapshot of Drug Use in Harford County"

Mr. Ryan gives an excellent presentation on why left over prescription drugs need to be disposed of properly and why they are a danger to our community - Jarrettsville Community Council, Facebook. "While more people are selling heroin in Baltimore City, more people are buying and using it in Harford County," Ryan said during Wednesday evening's monthly meeting of the Jarrettsville Community Council. With about 245,000 residents, Harford is the seventh most populous among the 24 counties and Baltimore City. Did you know? *Every day, more than 2,000 kids use a prescription drug to get high for the first time. Medicine abuse is an epidemic affecting teenagers across the country. *Marijuana is widely known as a gateway drug, but many people fail to recognize alcohol is another contributing factor to lifelong addictions. *The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has described the countrys sharp rise in overdoses over the last decade from prescription painkillers, or opioids, as an epidemic. But it can be easy to lose sight of what epidemic truly means. *The top 5 drug and alcohol issues in Harford County are Marijuana, Heroin, Prescription Drugs, Synthetic Drugs, and Alcohol/underage drinking.

You definitely dont want to miss this Meeting!
