Discussion Points/ Actions required Follow up actions

Work permits are required for all works carried out within
the Refinery Restricted Areas with the exceptions of the
following:
1. Work performed by operators in their course of
duty.
2. Welding works done in the Refinery workshops.
3. Isolations, Re-energizing or Resetting of Electrical
equipment in Sub-stations.
4. Lab Staff & their Test apparatus or Machines
/Maintenance of the same in the course of their
normal duties.
5. Normal duties of Inspection Staff, Vibration
Monitoring Staff & Lab Staff when they cross the
sections, they should just inform the Supervisor of
the host section before entering.
6. All works done outside the Refinery Bonded Area.
TYPES OF WORK PERMITS.
1. HOT WORK
Works that is expected to produce sparks naked
flame or any source of ignition.
2. COLD WORK
Any work within the Refinery Bonded Area that
does not fall under the hot work as defined above.
