1. TSW explain the purpose of the Legislative Branch. 2. TSW analyze the legislative process by simulating how a bill becomes a law.

Committee Roles

ROLES: 1- Committee Chairperson Keeps track of time, makes sure committee is speaking one person at a time (facilitating discussion), makes sure committee is staying on track 2 Committee Secretary records all notes for committee 3- Committee Reporter reports to Mr. Berger and other classmates

In your committee
The committees need to decide as a group whether to a) reject the bill, b) accept it as it stands, or c) amend (change) it in a way that would make the bill more likely to pass in a whole class vote RESPECTFUL discussions

HOMEWORK
Write at least 4-5 sentences FOR each question analyzing the process we went through in class. Paragraph should answer the following questions. 1.How would you describe the process of making a bill into a law (Easy, hard, long, short, etc.)? Use evidence. 2. Why do you think the process is so long and difficult to make a bill into a law? 3. Were you satisfied with the results of the class votes? Why or why not?
