She saw dehumanization everyday when the Taliban publically whipped and executed people. The beheaded corpses of the Talibans victims lay in the streets. Her father, manager of a school for girls, received death threats because of his job. The family was forced to leave their home and each other for many months before returning to a ransacked school and an abandoned city.
Malala originally dreamt of becoming a doctor, but now dreams of becoming a politician. She believes that as a politician, she can speak out about the grievances of those in Pakistan and lessen the sufferings of Pakistan. Also, she is a committed girls and childrens rights activist. She stands for girls education in Pakistan and around the world.
If I were to ask Malala, What is out responsibility to fellow human beings? she would say, Our responsibility is to stand up for ourselves and stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. Everyone deserves to live in peace and everyone deserves an education. We are to make our world better for our children, their children, their childrens children, and every other child. We need to stop those who want to take our rights and freedoms from us. Maya Miller
