Mr. Butler My artifact is a letter of recommendation from my English teacher, Mr. Butler. Mr.

Butler has been my teacher for three years now, from sophomore year all through senior year. He has also been my mentor and taught me things that are not related to English. In class, he relates anything to the stories and literature we read, going deeper than the surface story. I have a lot of respect for him, which is why this letter is so meaningful. In the teacher recommendation letter, Mr. Butler states that I am worthy of getting into any university. The reason my teacher recommendation letter is so important is because Mr. Butler helped me show anyone who would read the letter think that I would be a perfect fit on their campus. The piece also says that I am a very hard worker. NOVA Academy, Early College High School, has many expectations for their students. Some expectations are graduating with some college credits, and to keep going to school until the student has reached to the career they wanted to be in. I am one one of those students. Who will be graduating, I do have some college credits, and I will be going to school until I have reached to career choice I always wanted. The reason why my teacher recommendations fits into the Graduates ESLR, is because I am ready to graduate. I have finished a couple of college courses and I am almost done with my high school courses. I have gone over all of my required credits, meaning I have more than the bare minimum. I am able to show respect towards others and towards any culture. It may have have been hard at first but i managed to do so. I also have the attitude of a graduate: selfmotivated, competent, and a lifelong learner. I am a self-motivated because I paced myself on my homework. I do not let any of my homework become late. I am competent because I do have the skills of being successful in school. And last but not least I am a lifelong learner as you can read in another essay in my portfolio.

The reason why my teacher recommendation letter is so important to me is because it made me sound like I am the perfect student. However, I am not perfect. The teacher recommendation letter is just simply saying that I ready to be in an university campus and go to school there. I have worked so hard during my four years in NOVA. Graduating from high school will be a great rite of passage for me because I will be the very first person from my family to graduate from high school. I had fought many battles to get to the place of where I stand at the moment. So it is a very meaningful moment for me to graduate.
