I try to advance children thinking, by asking how or why questions. Asking a child what do you think will happen if we mix red and white paint together? Letting them respond, and continuing with additional questions to really get them thinking. Ive learned to give realistic choices to the children; its time for outdoor play, would you like to put your coat on first or your shoes? Rather than Do you want to go outside? I try to do what I call scanning while working with children individually. So that I am aware of what and where other children are. I get excited right along with the children when we are discovering new things.
