Weebly-Creating a Website

Directions: You are going to create a website using information from the book that you have just read.
1. You will need to create an account at www.weebly.com 2. Do not sign up using Facebook. Sign up using your SCHOOL issued g-mail account. 3. When the screen says Lets get started, choose SITE. 4. Choose a Theme that expresses the overall mood (the way you feel when reading it) of the book. 5. When it says, Choose Your Website Domain click on the first one that says Use a Subdomain of Weebly.com. Title your website your first name and last name irbp (independent reading book project). a. Example: anneboiceirbp 6. Click on Build my site 7. Anything on the site can be changed. The help button (?) will be a good tool for you to use initially. 8. Make the home page the title of your book. Remember book titles are underlined. The home page will include: a. The author b. 5-7 sentence summary about the book c. An image that represents the book 9. You will need to add more pages. In order to do this click on the top tool bar where it says pages. This area allows you to create more pages, change the name of the pages, and arrange the pages in the order that you want. You can also add sub-pages here. a. At the very least you need to add an about the author page, a theme page, a characters page, a conflict page, a figurative language page, and recommendation page. b. If you want to add more pages, you can, but they need to be book related. c. You can add images, videos, links, articles, or anything that you deem important to any of the pages. 10. Notes are located in EDMODO in the Literary Dictionary Folder if you do not know what any of these terms mean. OR you can search for them yourselves, but bewarenot everything that you find on the internet is true and I would hate for you to find the wrong meaning of things!

(5) Characters page: o Identify the antagonist, describe the antagonist, and provide two important quotes _____/13 that the antagonist said and explain why those quotes are important to the story. Include page #s! (5) o Identify the protagonist, describe the protagonist, and provide two important quotes that the protagonist said and explain why those quotes are important to the story. Include page #s! (5) o Include any other supporting characters that are important to the storys central plot and explain how the character(s) are important. (3) Conflict page: o Identify the main conflict in the book. (5) _____/13 o Identify what type of conflict it is: (4) Internal vs External-Explain why If it is External identify what type: Person vs Society Person vs Person Person vs Nature o Illustrate the conflict-find an image, create a comic strip, be creative (4) Figurative Language page: o Identify eight examples of either figurative language or literary devices. (5) _____/13 You can find, but are not limited to simile, metaphor, personification, onomatopoeia, symbols, irony, flashback, foreshadowing, alliteration, rhyme, hyperbole, imagery o Include what type you are identifying, the example from the book, and the page number. Do this for all eight examples. (5) o There needs to be at least three different types. (3) Recommendation page: o A minimum of 5 sentences about whether or not you would recommend the book ___/13 and why. (13) Your Score Proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling. (6) ___/9 Evidence that you spent time and were creative with the assignment. (3)
