Engage, assess, intervene, and evaluate with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities.

10.1 SUBSTANTIVELY AND AFFECTIVELY PREPARE FOR ACTION WITH INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND COMMUNITIES
Before going out to meet each client I will read their case to gain an understanding of the allegations.

10.2 USE EMPATHY AND OTHER INTERPERSONAL SKILLS


I will use active listening skills while maintaining good eye contact and an assertive tone of voice with each client.

10.3 DEVELOP A MUTUALLY AGREED-ON FOCUS OF WORK

I discuss with my supervisor what the plans are for the day.

10.4 COLLECT, ORGANIZE, AND INTERPRET CLIENT DATA


When looking at a client case I always ask my supervisor or the case manager questions about the case if something does not make sense.

10.5 ASSESS CLIENTS STRENGTHS AND LIMITATIONS

I look at the form that was filled out by a investigator on the case and when I see the family I make my own observations of their strengths and limitations

10.6 DEVELOP MUTUALLY AGREED-ON INTERVENTION GOALS AND OBJECTIVES


During CFTs the family and the social worker develop goals and activities to reach those mutually agreed-on goals

10.7 SELECT APPROPRIATE INTERVENTION STRATEGIES


Follow the guidelines of the agency and develop interventions that will work best to help the client

10.8 INITIATE ACTIONS TO ACHIEVE ORGANIZATIONAL GOALS


Make sure clients have been able to set up the various appointments necessary for their intervention.

10.9 IMPLEMENT PREVENTION INTERVENTIONS THAT ENHANCE CLIENT CAPACITIES


Make sure clients know all the resources available to them

10.10 HELP CLIENTS RESOLVE PROBLEMS


I will make sure my clients have all necessary resources to help solve problems

10.11 NEGOTIATE, MEDIATE, AND ADVOCATE FOR CLIENTS


Talking with providers to make sure the treatment plan is working for the client.

10.12 FACILITATE TRANSITIONS AND ENDINGS


I will make sure each client knows the status of their case and when it might be closing.

10.13 SOCIAL WORKERS CRITICALLY ANALYZE , MONITOR, AND EVALUATE INTERVENTIONS


Every three months there is a CFT to go over progress made on the case and to go over what still needs to be done
