An Information System
Definition: IS can be any organised combination of people, h/w, s/w, Communication N/Ws and data resources that stores and retrieves, transforms and disseminates information in an organization.

Information Technology
The term information system describes all of the components and resources necessary to deliver its information and functions to the organization.
