Introduction Domestic Violence

Domestic violence is a behavior of one person in a relationship that takes control over the other person. It can happen to anyone doesnt matter the age, gender, culture or religion. Its not only woman going through this conflict but men as well."The violence has many forms for example; calling names, stalking, keeping partner from contacting their friend, taking away money, physical harm and even sexual assaulting"(Melinda Smith). One of the signs of Domestic Violence that you might see in friends is having injuries that could not be caused unintentionally or that do not match the story of what happened to cause them( Patt Quinn). "Also 1 in 4 woman, 1 in 7 men, and 10,000,000 children everyday go through domestic violence world wide" (Soraya Chemaly). In 70-80% of intimate partner homicides, no matter which partner was killed, the man physically abused the woman before the murder(Domestic Violence Facts). My Initial argument is to try helping and let people in my community know that domestic violence is a crime. Domestic Violence should be stopped and more people should help because many men and woman get abuse or killed and are to scared to get help. My Capstone will address four Asia Society Leadership Performance Outcomes categories; Investigating the World, Recognizing Perspectives, Communicating Ideas and Taking Action. Investigating the World; I will ask question about the conflict (Domestic Violence). Also I will look for a way to help in my community. Recognizing Perspectives; I will talk about personal experience and what they learn from that experience. Communication Ideas; I will bring a speaker to talk about how you can get help from Domestic Violence. Taking Action; I will spread the word to students for community service to help people that went through Domestic Violence at Houston Area Woman's Center. "What are the difference between a men and woman In domestic violence?" "Why are women more defenseless in this conflict?" "Why domestic violence occur and how to stop it?"This Capstone will help me develop in many ways such as communicating with others, practical research methods and helping in my community. On top of that it will prepare me for college by writing a real research paper. Learning Objectives a. To learn how to help people having this conflict in my community. b. To learn how to communicate with others about domestic violence. c. To learn how to improve my writing skills. d. To make people be more interested in my capstone. e. The Form of my passages will be up to 6-9 pages (typed). My research will be cited. I will give a 20- 30 summary of my research and ask questions. I will have a speaker talk about domestic violence and I will also volunteer in a woman's shelter.

My greatest obstacle I expect is to turn everything on time. The first step I will take is to keep checking my work with my sponsor to make it perfect. Also be organized and make my project catch peoples attention.
