Breanne Rowland Run for the Cure Reflection

The Run for the Cure was exciting for me because it allowed me to participate in something that celebrated all of the individuals who have suffered from cancer. It was a way to help the community and think about all the individuals who have battled this disease. Our class put together a team that represented the occupational therapy program at Touro. Many of my classmates have been affected by this because it has influenced an individual they know. This made the run more personal and brought our cohort together for a good cause. We all made shirts for one another and decorated them to represent our team. This was something that helped our friendships grow as a whole and brought us closer. It also encouraged our participation within the community and helped bring more awareness to the topic. I enjoyed being a part of the community and raising awareness for something that I felt passionate about. I think it also brought our cohort together for the first time and helped us become closer as a team. Additionally, I enjoyed this run because this gave us a chance to work on something together outside of school. Hopefully I will be able to participate in this walk again next year and have the same experience.
