Logan Franklin Learning Outcomes Summer 2013 Learning Outcome 1 Gain a deeper understanding of service-learning and how it is implemented

at Missouri State University. Steps Work with my supervisor to learn the operations of CASL so that I understand the work that they do. I will read through documents on the CASL website and other areas about their implementation of service-learning. Through my development of the handbooks, I will have access to the process that students go through to participate in service-learning.

Learning Outcome 2 I will design and draft the Student Handbook for Service Learning, as well as, the Community Partner Handbook. Steps Gather information that is needed for the handbooks and make sure the information is up-to-date with my supervisor. I will design a template and style for the handbooks that is approved by my supervisor I will give my input and reasons for different styles for students and community partners. I will complete my project by the deadline assigned to me by my practicum supervisor

Learning Outcome 3 I will learn how to effectively use Microsoft Publisher in the design of documents for departmental use. Steps Through my use of Microsoft Publisher in designing the handbooks I will learn how to better use the program. If I encounter any trouble with the program, I will consult an online resource on the use of the program.

Learning Outcome 4 I will improve my competency in the ACPA/NASPA competency areas that relate to my practicum. Steps Through my work in my practicum, I will identify the competency areas which will grow through my experience. I will relate my work to the ACPA/NASPA competencies. At the end of my practicum I will take stock of the competencies that will still need work and will attempt to use those to guide my future work before finishing my Masters degree
